Overwhelm
When the brain is overstimulated, a person may look for available outlets, and the need for movement may arise. Providing a nook movement area will help to bring the ADHD brain back to a baseline when overstimulated. When feelings of overwhelm come over a person, it can be hard to think clearly. Using cues in the environment can direct attention where it is needed in these times. With these chairs, the sense of novelty is evoked; therefore, bringing attention to it. Other attention-drawing elements can be added, such as color and texture, to create stronger forced attention. When feeling overwhelmed, the brain needs a strong nudge to break out of the box of anxiety and stress.
